Marriage is a sacred thing in which people sometimes take for granted. Couples meet, fall in love, get married, and sometimes even have children. Unfortunately, more than 50% of marriages in this country typically fail. Whether it is through fault of one spouse causing the relationship to collapse, or the marriage just fails due to instability on both spouse‘s parts, divorce can be a devastating thing for you, your spouse, and your children.
Divorce is common in any state in our country, including the state of Texas. Texas is a no fault state when it comes to filing for divorce. This means that a divorce in Austin can be granted without one spouse having to show that the marriage ended through fault of the other spouse. However, there are the cases where Austin divorce is granted based on fault through one of the spouses as well.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has released a report regarding the statistics on divorce rates in Texas. Here are some statistics on divorces in the state of Texas (the rates listed in this report are per 1,000 total populations residing in the state of Texas):
All of these populations are consistent with the 2000 Census.
Keep in mind these statistics are only pertaining to one state. With all of the states combined, divorce rates can be as high as the millions. In fact, as many as 21 million people were divorced in the year 2000 alone.
